Security review meeting held

SRINAGAR, Feb 24: A high level joint Army, JKP and CRPF meeting was held at headquarters of Victor Force at Awantipur today.
An Army spokesman said the meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General AK Bhatt, Corps Cdr of the Srinagar based Chinar Corps and attended by GOC Victor Force, IG Kashmir, IG CRPF,  officers from IB and Special Bureau apart from various RR Sector Commanders and COs, DIGs and SSPs of all districts of South Kashmir.
He said senior officers of the respective services interacted with an array of functional level officers and reviewed the security situation in South Kashmir.
“Apart from sharing of ideas and objectives, review of intelligence and operations was carried out which led to defining a joint future strategy to counter the designs of terrorists. The Corps Cdr appreciated the excellent synergy that exists amongst all the forces operating in South Kashmir and exhorted everyone to continue working towards achieving peace and establishing the writ of the Government,” he said.
“Besides sharing of intelligence and ideas, the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, SP Pani assured every one of total support and synergy between the security forces. IG CRPF and officers from IB and Special Bureau gave valuable insights and assured the gathering of continued support during all operations,” he added.
“The Corps Cdr at the end said that entire Chinar Corps, which includes not just the Army but all security forces, is well geared to fight against the terrorists and would continue working towards bringing peace and harmony in the region,” he further added.
