JAMMU, Jan 31: Secretary, Cooperative Department, Babila Rakwal, today thoroughly assessed the operational efficiency, financial strength, and contributions of the Citizens’ Cooperative Bank (CCB) and Jammu Central Cooperative Bank (JCCB) to the financial inclusion and cooperative values.
Welcomed by Managing Director, CCB, Ravi Kant, and staff at Citizens’ Cooperative Bank, Rakwal, accompanied by Joint Registrar Rakesh Kumar Dubey and Deputy Registrar Bhumika Sharma, engaged with Chairman Parveen Sharma and the board members.
The ongoing discussions centered on the bank’s ongoing initiatives, strategies for enhancing financial services, and commitment to economic growth through cooperative principles.
Rakwal acknowledged the bank’s efforts despite constraints, urging alignment with cooperative principles for economic growth.
Emphasizing financial strengthening, she commended the bank’s service parity with nationalized or private banks, urging safeguards for shareholder interests.
Operational since 1978, the Citizens’ Cooperative Bank has championed the cooperative banking, financial literacy programs, and tailored solutions for diverse client needs.
Chairman of the Bank, Parveen Sharma, expressed gratitude for Rakwal’s guidance, reiterating the bank’s dedication to community service and economic prosperity.
Rakwal conducted a section-wise tour of the Head Office, assessing operations and expressing concern for capacity building.
She promised cooperation in resolving pending issues and committed to uplifting the sector during her tenure.
Board members present included Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Sumant Singh Jamwal, Varinder Singh Jamwal, and Ravi Kant.
Later, at Jammu Central Cooperative Bank, Rakwal received a warm welcome from Administrator Rakesh Kumar Dubey and Managing Director Sultan Mirza.
She toured each section, advising staff to work diligently for the institution’s upliftment.
