SRINAGAR, June 9: Asking the concerned officers to ensure maximum transparency in the Revenue Department, the Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Mohammad Afzal Bhat today directed for speedy disposal of various matters including the inquiries and complaints in the department.
The Commissioner Secretary was speaking at a meeting convened to review the progress with regard to inquiries and complaints pending disposal in the Revenue Department.
The Deputy Commissioners and District Vigilance Officers of Kashmir Division were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, updated list as received from the State Vigilance Commission was provided to the concerned officers to ensure disposal and submission of status report by or before June 25. The participants were apprised about the serious note taken by the Vigilance Commission in disposing of corruption related complaints by the Revenue Department.
The officers raised the issue of non-availability of copies of complaints/inquiries/RDAs for which they were advised to approach the Vigilance Organization either personally or through their representatives.
The Deputy Commissioners were asked to furnish the list of saffron belts to be notified by the Government to stop the menace of unauthorized constructions and extraction of clay from saffron land particularly in Srinagar and Pulwama districts. .
While taking stock of the flood related issues, the Deputy Commissioners were asked to furnish the requirement of funds for settlement of pending claims of flood sufferers of 2014 floods which have been referred to NDMA up to March 31, 2016 the deadline fixed by authority forthwith.
