JAMMU, July 6: As part of welfare activities and to ameliorate the problems of the people, Sampark Economical Development Society (SEDS) conducted a free medical camp at remote village, Lower Thather.
The free medical camp was inaugurated by Shamsher Singh, Sarpanch Lower Thather. The Camp witnessed an unprecedented response from the populace as people from adjacent villages also came to attend the camp including prominent members, Sarpanch and Panchs. A team of doctors comprising of Dr Rajani and Dr Pankaj Sharma provided medical care to the people during the camp.
A total 250 patients benefited from the camp. Apart from medical checkup patients were provided with free medicines by the society. Nisha Verma, president of the society promised to organize more such camps in remote areas of Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua districts in the near future to cater for medical needs of people hailing from poorer sections of the society.
Shamsher Singh (Sarpanch) Lower Thather, Sham Lal Sharma Principal Government Middle School Lower Thather, Suram Singh (Panchayat Secretary) and Toshi Devi Panch appreciated this noble intitative by the society in providing free medical aid to them at their door step.
Patients who were treated in the camp also requested the society to increase the frequency of such camps in the area. Others who are present on the camp were M R Bangotra, B R Radhay and Sushant. At the end, Shifali Sharma, Project Officer of the society presented vote of thanks.
