JAMMU, Apr 1: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today called for seeing the art through the lens of creativity and said people should think on aesthetic lines in politics also.
The Minister said this at the valedictory function of two day national seminar, “Value awareness and aesthetics in literary criticism” organized by Department of English, Central University of Jammu in collaboration with Daya Krishna Academic Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said aesthetics concentrates on the beauty of art which transcends reasons.
Recalling the contribution of Indian subcontinent to literary aesthetics, the Minister said the subcontinent has produced some of the great minds in the field, including Abhimanavgupt, Rabindranath Tagore, Sri Aurobindo Ghosh, Sir Mohammad Iqbal, Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Saadat Hassan Manto who have immensely contributed to literature.
Stressing the need for aesthetics in politics, the Minister said politicians should be judged by their work.
The Minister added that State Government is committed to encourage research and boast researchers to pave way for improvement and development in society.
