SEECC holds meet, projects demands

JAMMU, Aug 9: School Education Employees Co-ordination Committee (SEECC) held a meeting of officers and teachers.
Addressing the participants, Amar Nath Thakur, provincial president SEECC Jammu demanded the cancellation of 46 adjustment orders of lecturers who have been given favouritism in adjustments and adjusted against the posts of the science and other subjects which would be a great injustice with students and the claim of department to rationalize the teaching staff has fallen flat.
He said this kind of favouritism is intolerable. He said if order is not cancelled, the matter will be taken up with Education Minister. He said that favoritism has reached at so high level that two orders of lecturers and masters have been issued within four days.
Yog Raj Singh while speaking in the meeting requested Education Minister to regularize all CEOs, Principals, ZEOs, lecturers and headmasters by implementing SRO 481. He also requested Director School Education Jammu to review the process of collecting APRs from different districts of Jammu province. A delegation of SEECC had already apprised Director in this regard and submitted a memorandum, he added.
Surjit Singh said that rationalization of teaching staff in all schools is must to provide justice to students in rural and far flung areas. He criticized the Department for providing extra teaching staff in all city, town and roadside schools by ignoring the teacher-pupil ratio.
He demanded 50:50 ratio of male and female teachers in all city, town and road side schools to provide equal chance to male teachers to serve in city schools.
All Speakers criticized the screening test of ReT Teachers. They said that if the degrees and certificates of some ReT teachers are found fake and forged then action under rules must be taken but to defame all ReT teachers and teaching community in the public is not tolerable, it is an insult of all teachers.
They said that SEECC extends full support to the ReT teachers in this struggle for self respect.
