JAMMU, Jan 22: Plus 2 Lecturers and teachers of State Education Employees Coordination Committee (SEECC) held a meeting to review the education scenario in Government schools and problems being faced by the department and teaching fraternity.
Addressing the meeting, Amar Nath Thakur, State Chairman of the Coordination Committee, said the education policy to declare all students pass up to 8th class and then seek better result in Board classes from teachers was unfair and unjustified. “The Governments has made education a joke where only experiments are made without considering the basic facts,” he said adding that strong foundation of nation can be built only on its strong education policy in the beginning at elementary level.
He informed that Secretary School Education has assured the early issuance of regularization orders of all cadres as per SAC decision and has established an HRM cell in the department for the purpose in the department. Thakur also informed that Secretary Education Ajeet Kumar Sahu has agreed to install CCTV cameras in all examinations from elementary level to Hr Sec level to curb the menace of cheating and copying in exams.
All the speakers urged State Governor to order installation of CCTV cameras in all recruitments agency examination like SSRB, JKPSC, JKBOPEE and all other competitive examinations to prevent copying and cheating to maintain transparency so that capable and intelligent youths are selected on the basis of their performance.
The meet also requested the Secretary School Education to order admission of LKG and KG classes in all Government schools to strengthen the base or attach all Angan Wari Centers with the nearest primary schools along with A W Workers for better look after and education of children up to five years and ensure 100 percent attendance in schools. The participants also appealed the Education Department authorities to ensure rationalization of teaching staff in all schools as per strength of students and not allow the teaching fraternity to sit idle in city schools where there is less strength of students that too of weaker sections and workers of outside the State.
