I n order that no citizen of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir otherwise possessing a valid domicile certificate was deprived of the SEHAT Scheme sponsored by the Central Government under which a medical insurance cover of Rs.5 lakh per family is assured, database has been sought to be up-dated in respect of inclusion of missing families. It is really a step in right direction as those whose names were missing from Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) of 2011 are now sought to be included as the Government accorded sanction to such an exercise to be undertaken and duly completed. As per an estimate, those of the left out 5% families would now be included so as to be eligible for the benefits of the said scheme. The procedures prescribed for this facility for the families are simple and are laid down, the Tehsildar concerned would be the authority to be approached or the Chairman of the Block Level Committee. An occasion is thus provided to scan all such missing families with respect to 2011 database and to include those in the scheme after completion of nominal formalities. Needless to add, SEHAT scheme must be seen on the ground being made helpful by its due implementation.
