Select base metals soften on low demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 2: Select base metal prices fell by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today due to reduced industrial demand and a reports of a weak global trend.
Traders said besides fall in demand from consuming industries and reports of a weak global trend mainly led to the fall in select base metal prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4×4) fell by Rs 2 each to Rs 430 and Rs 1088-1094 per kg respectively. Lead ingot and lead imported were also traded lower by the same margin to Rs 111 and Rs 109 per kg respectively.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot 113-119, Nickel plate (4×4) 1,088-1,094, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 430, Chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 111, Lead imported 109, Aluminium ingots 159, Aluminium sheet cutting 160, Aluminium wire scrap 162 and Aluminium utensils scrap 159. (PTI)
