NEW DELHI, July 23: Select pulses led by arhar fell by upto Rs 350 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today owing to slackened demand from retailers at prevailing levels against adequate stocks position after government’s measures to check rising prices.
Traders said adequate stocks position on improved supplies in the market after the government’s took steps to curb rising prices and easing demand from retailers mainly pulled down arhar and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety plunged by Rs 350 and Rs 300 to Rs 8,500 and Rs 11,300-13,000 per quintal respectively.
Moth fell by Rs 200 to Rs 5,300-5700 per quintal.
Moong and its dal chilka local moved down by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,500-6,100 and Rs 6,050-6,450 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,450-6,950 and Rs 6,950-7,150 per quintal respectively.
Masoor small and bold drifted lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,150-6,450 and Rs 6,200-6,500 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired lower by the same margin to Rs 6,650-7,150 and Rs 6,750-7,250 per quintal.
Urad and its dal chilka too finished lower by Rs 200 each to Rs 10,100-11,600 and Rs 10,400-10,500 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 10,500-11,000 and Rs 10,900-11,200 per quintal respectively.
