Selected commodity prices move up

CHENNAI, Jan 6: The prices of moong dal, maida and sooji moved up, while rest all other commodities remained unaltered in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Moong dal rose by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 8,700 from last week’s closing rate of Rs 8,500.

Likewise, Maida (90 kg) and Sooji (90 kg) increased by Rs 200 and Rs 100 each to Rs 2,600 and Rs 2,600 from Rs 2,400 and Rs 2,500, respectively.

However, thoor dal, urad dal, gram dal, sugar and wheat maintained the same rates from its previous levels.

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities today (in rupees per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 7,000 Urad Dal Rs 6,900 Moong Dal Rs 8,700 Gram Dal Rs 3,900 Sugar Rs 2,900 Wheat Rs 2,600 Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,600 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 2,600. (AGENCIES)
