JAMMU, Aug 18: Expressing its strong anguish and grief over the targeted killing of Sunil Bhat by Pakistani sponsored militants at Chotiogam, Shopian Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) termed it total failure of administration and apparent callousness on part of security set up in Kashmir.
The BJP KDD which met here under the chairmanship of its president, Chand Ji Bhat while conveying its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family discussed the increasing attacks on minorities in Kashmir. The other party leaders who attended the meeting included Ex MLC, G L Raina, general secretaries, H K Razdan , Sanjay Bhat, H L Bhat, Moti Lal Bhat and Rajeev Bhat.
The meeting said the Jehadi agenda of total annihilation of Kashmiri Hindus in Kashmir is being taken non-seriously and putting remnant minority Hindu community of Kashmir in lurch. Despite apparent and open threat to lives of vulnerable section of population, the administration has failed to ensure their security. The fact that victims had approached administration for visible lacunas in security also reflects poorly on insensitivity demonstrated and is repetition of what was observed during Wandhama, Nadimarg and Chatisingpora massacres.
The meeting said more concerning is that the Government has not come out with the SIT report which was constituted to investigate the brutal assassination of Rahul Bhat on May 12 this year which was followed by equally inhuman , merciless and ruthless assassination of Rajni Bala and Vijay Kumar. Had the status and recommendation of the SIT report been made public, this heinous killing of Sunil Bhat and other innocent civilians could have been averted. It said the intensions of the UT Administration are suspect as to why no responsibility has been fixed on concerned administrative authorities.
The meeting urged the UT Administration to awaken from deep slumber and ensure safety and security of left over Hindus in Kashmir and be alive to the aspirations and genuine concerns of this vulnerable section of population in Kashmir. KDD unit of BJP also expressed its serious concern over lack of communication with minority community regarding their fears, aspirations, issues and anxieties. It appealed Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to open communication with the victim community and address these issues as a priority.
