JAMMU, Sept 15: The recent abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A is yet to convince the mindset of some bureaucrats in Jammu and Kashmir as anti-Jammu activities still continue.
This was stated by different speakers in a seminar titled ‘Discrimination with Jammu’ organized by Ikkjut Jammu and Federation of Registered Travel-Trade Associations of Jammu.
Ankur Sharma, Chairman of Ikkjut Jammu while speaking in the seminar said though post August 5 abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A has smashed the special status of J&K but still it has de-facto existence.
“Get united all the stake holders of tourism sector. Hitting tourism is closely linked to hitting culture and civilization of Jammu region and it needs to be defeated,” Sharma further said.
He quoted the recent scrapping of proposed Malasia road show by J&K government to highlight Jammu culture and said that even funds were cleared for the project but certain elements in bureaucracy shelved the project thereby exposing their anti-Jammu mindset.

Earlier, Vishav Hindu Parishad J&K president, Leela Karan Sharma had said that certain officers in J&K government don’t want Jammu region to prosper and develop.
“This scenario still exists even after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A but we can talk to the Governor Malik and even to Union Home Minister in this regard,” he said adding that some breathing time should be given to the newly elected Modi-2 regime.
“Though leaders in Kashmir are puzzled, Pakistan too is frustrated after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A,” he maintained adding that the irritated Pakistan is now spreading lies about Kashmir in the world which too are proving useless for it.
Prof Hari Om, Ikkjut Jammu leader said, Jammu never got what it deserved.
Highlighting step-motherly treatment with Jammu region, he said that history of Jammu was that of regional discrimination.
“Certain forces acted against Jammu interests and after 1947 Jammu was slowly removed from the administration,” he further said.
Hari Om also said though the situation has changed now in J&K but claimed that those who looted Jammu for the last seven decades are still here.
Expressing optimism he said, after November 1, 2019 new changes will visit J&K and people here will get what they deserve.
It is pertinent to mention here that officially on October 31 this year, J&K and Ladakh will be two new Union Territories.
“Get all stake holders of tourism sector united and first prefer across the table medium for solution. If this fails then gather support of different organizations for an agitation. Bar will be with you,” J&K High Court Bar Association President, Abhinav Sharma said.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Surinder Mahajan, President Raghunath Bazar Association.
