JAMMU, Feb 19: As a part of week-long awareness drive on the abuses of drugs, a briefing-interaction session of the SHOs/IC PPs/IOs of district Jammu was held in DPL Jammu in collaboration with Narcotic Control Bureau, Jammu over the investigation of NDPS cases.
In the seminar 45 officers participated, and interacted with the senior police officers as well as team of Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB), Jammu.
The resource persons on the occasion were Satish Kumar and Koushal Kumar, Intelligence Officers, NCB, Jammu who gave a detailed presentation on the procedures laid down and sequence wise steps which need to be adopted while investigating the NDPS cases.
They also assured full assistance and cooperation to Jammu Police on behalf of their department in this regard.
Randheer Singh, SP Headquarters, Jammu, Sriram Dinkar, SDPO West, Rafiq Manhas, SDPO East, Jammu and CPO DPO Jammu also shared their views and experiences and emphasized upon them to adopt all the procedures to achieve tangible results.
During deliberations, they also interacted with the participants and provided some specific tips for the successful investigation. Literature and the circulars pertaining to NDPS related cases were also circulated.
While speaking in the seminar, Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu maintained that Jammu Police is committed to have a drug free society, and all efforts are being made with all the stake holders in this regard.
The need of awareness was underscored among the general public about the ill effects of drugs and narcotics and at the same time, it was made clear to them to follow the laid down procedures minutely for ensuring 100 % conviction of cases.
It needs mention here that a massive awareness drive was launched under the guidance of PHQ, J&K, ZPHQ, Jammu RPHQ Jammu in District Jammu under the direct supervision of SSP Jammu and SP Headquarters, Jammu, for massive awareness drive among the general public.
