Seminar on ‘Community Policing’ begins at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Jan 27: Two-day seminar on “Community Policing” began today at SK Police Academy, in which officers of the rank of SI and Inspector of J&K Police are participating.
This training programme cum seminar is designed to meet the basic objectives of Community Policing, its importance, need of the millennium, public participation in Policing to minimize the gap and built trust, close co-ordination with other Govt agencies involved in Community Policing, Police Community relationship for better society and building trust with citizens.
Different guest faculty from Jammu University and faculty from SKPA will deliver lectures to the participants.
In the inaugural function today, SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Dy Director (Indoor) was the chief guest. In his inaugural address, Rajinder Kumar Gupta said that by means of community policing, it is possible for police to have flow of information prior to commencement of any crime. He also laid emphasis that the first and foremost duty of a police officer is to serve the society and country in a better possible manner while remaining continuously in contact with the public, so it is the primary duty of police organisation to work for the betterment of community.
The course is being coordinated by Sandeep Mahajan, Inspr and Sukhvir Singh, SI SKPA Udhampur.
