Seminar on ‘Cyber Security and Hygiene’ held

JAMMU, May 18: An interactive seminar/practical session on ‘Cyber Security and Hygiene’ was held here today at Government Polytechnic for Women.
Neeraj Dubey, Associate Professor at GCET Jammu, a renowned Cyber Warrior of J&K, who is on the panel of various organizations spreading awareness about cyber security through a series of interactive sessions, was the resource person.
He has set a target of making aware 50,000 stakeholders on the highly relevant topic of cyber security.
During interactive talks he deliberated on the safe use of internet, cyber hygiene, security issues and remedies such as using secure websites, two factor authentication etc with the help of interactive videos and practical demonstrations which were highly appreciated by the attendees.
Suket Gupta, Principal Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu while welcoming the resource person said that the topic was very relevant for girl students who need to be aware about the misuse of internet tools such as AI etc and take remedial measures.
The programme was coordinated and composed by Deepika Sharma, Lecturer Computer Engineering Department of the institute.
The students along with the faculty of E&C and Computer Engineering Department attended the seminar.
