RAJOURI, Dec 10: The School of Management Studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, organized a one-day national seminar on “Innovations in Banking Sector: Opportunities & Challenges”, sponsored by J&K Bank Ltd, here today.
The objective of the seminar was to acquaint scholars about the recent innovations in Indian Banking System & various opportunities & challenges. The event was organized under the guidance and directions of Prof Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor, BGSBU.
About 40 papers from within and outside the University were received for the seminar and about 30 scholars made the presentation.
Prof. Navab Ali khan, Dean Faculty of Commerce Aligarh Muslim University and Prof Deepanker Sen Gupta, Department of Commerce, JU, were keynote speakers of the seminar while Jatinder Kumar, organizing secretary of the seminar and Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, presented the vote of thanks. Proceedings of the inaugural session were conducted by Danish Iqbal Rina, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies.
The first technical session was chaired by Prof. Navab Ali Khan, AMU & Dr Asrar Ghaus Director, Centre for Hospitality & Tourism, BGSBU. Five paper presentations were made by the different scholars from CU Jammu & BGSBU, covering various areas of innovations, Opportunities & Challenges in Banking Sector, Sustainable tourism, banking & women empowerment etc.
The second session was chaired by Dr Gaurv Sehgal, Head, Department of Marketing & Supply Chain, CU Jammu and Dr Dil Pazir, Head Department of Economics, BGSBU. About 15 presentations were made in this session by the scholars
In the valedictory function, the summary of the whole day was presented by Vinay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, followed by the distribution of certificates to the participants. The concluding remarks for the seminar were given by Dean, School of Management Studies, BGSBU, Prof Naseem Ahmed. The seminar concluded with the formal vote of thanks presented by Kafeel Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies.
