Seminar on ‘Recent Trends in Science and Technology’ concludes

JAMMU, Sept 13: Two day Zonal Seminar-2020 organised by Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Jammu Sub Centre on the theme ‘Recent Trends in Science and Technology’ concluded today in an online mode.
The concluding session was in the form of North Zone Chairmen Conclave which was presided over by Prof. J.W Bakal, President IETE and attended by the Chairmen of different IETE centres of North Zone.
Various issues and suggestions including infrastructure, training programmes, research publications and enhancement of membership were put forth and deliberated upon.
Prof. Bakal in his address emphasized on the need of regular interactions among the office bearers for achieving the vision of IETE effectively for the benefit of the society.
Prof. P. Prabhakar, Vice President, IETE discussed various issues and challenges faced by some centres.
Earlier, Prof Pawanesh Abrol, Chairman IETE Jammu Sub Centre informed about various initiatives taken up by the Centre.
The Conclave was addressed by Prof. A.P Thakare, Prof. S.L Kapoor (Zonal Mentor, North Zone), Prof. Parveen K. Lehana, Convener and Head, Department of Electronics, University of Jammu (JU), Subhash Chander Jain (Chairman, IETE Chandigarh Centre), Maj Gen S.K Sharma (retd), Prof Rakesh Vaid, Joy Ganjoo and Er. Samir Sharma (Vice Chairman).
Er Vijay Sharma (Secretary) conducted the proceedings whereas vote of thanks was presented by Dr Romilla Malla Bhat, Principal GDC Marheen and Treasurer, Jammu centre.
The Seminar was inaugurated yesterday by Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, JU Vice Chancellor.
A technical lecture was organized by Dr Ram Gandhiraman, CEO & Founder, Space Foundry Inc, USA. More than 150 participants attended the Seminar.
The prizes for the winners of Project Idea Contest were sponsored by Vigyan Parishad J&K.
The Seminar was organized in technical collaboration with Department of Electronics, Department of Computer Science & IT, JU, Sedulity Solutions & Technologies, New Delhi, NetLabs Project Consultants Pvt Ltd, Chennai and Vigyan Parishad J&K.
