Seminar on ‘Role of Youth in Society’ held at JU

JAMMU, Feb 26: National Secular Forum (NSF) today organized a seminar on topic “Role of Youth in Society” at Gayan Chand Seminar Hall of Urdu Department at University of Jammu.
On the occasion, former Minister and MLA, Dr Mustafa Kamaal was the chief guest, while Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Rector of Kishtwar Campus, University of Jammu, Prof Rahul Gupta, HoD of Statistics Department, University of Jammu and Senior Sub Editor of Hindi Daily Krishan Kumar were the guest of honour.
Dr Mustafa Kamaal stressed upon the role of youth in nation building and to strengthen the secular credentials of India. “Secularism is the most important heritage of Independent India, which need to be persevered at any cost”, he said.
He further said that the Secular ethos of our country was strong enough but some vest interested people have been trying their best to negate that ethos. “Youth of country is driving for who should have strong follower of those secular credentials and also to spread secular philosophy among masses so that the unfortunate happening of 1947 will not be repeated”, he added.
To address the problem of unemployment Dr Mustafa Kamaal emphasized over introduction of job oriented courses in all educational institution.
Dr Shohab Inayat Malik made a fervent appealed to youth to stand in unity against discrimination on basis of caste, color, creed and religion.
Prof Rahul Gupta, Krishan Kumar and a Research Scholars of Jammu University Altaf also expressed their views on the occasion.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by NSF President Sukhdev Singh while Barkat Tahir was stage secretary and vote of thanks was given by Ajaz Shah.
Among others present were Dr Chaman Lal Bhagat, Prof Mohammad Reyaz Ahmed, Dr Vikas Sharma, Dr Maqoom Ansari, Dr Shafqat Malik, etc.
