Seminar on Scientific Connotations of Bhagwat Geeta organised

JAMMU, May 13: One day seminar was organised on the theme “Scientific Connotations of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita” by Nancy Foundation at Muthi Camp Community Hall, here today.
The seminar was divided into two sessions. First session was devoted to the Gita recitation by children in the age group below 20 years of age, while the second session was based on the paper presentation by scholars on the comprehensive aspects of the Bhagwat Gita.
Kashmiri Pandit children from various parts of the Jammu region participated in the event and impressed the audience with the Gita recitation. Children who excelled in the recitation contest and secured first, second and third position respectively included Muskan Razdan, Laksh and Bhowmika Raina respectively. They were also awarded cash prizes. The judges for this event were Kusum Dhar and Guddie Jogi.
In the second session four papers including one of Satish Dhar from Delhi was presented. Sanjay Raina in his paper presentation highlighted the significance of Gita. Dr Mahesh Kaul in his presentation underlined the role of Bhagwat Gita in breaking the myths about the division between Agamic and Nigamic traditions. Sharan Dhar laid focus on the scientific temper and rational aspects of the Gita besides he brought to the fore the basis of Gita and situated it in the Vedic paradigm.
Prof Manoj Mishra, Director Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Kot Bhalwal was the chief guest on the occasion.
While delivering his address, Prof Mishra said that Gita is the Divine revelation and its message is as relevant as ever.
The event commenced and culminated with the cultural performances by the children from a social organisation Matamal .They presented Krishna Leela and Bhajans.
Formal vote of thanks was delivered by Bhushan Lal Jalali, Chairman, Nancy Foundation.
Prominent people who were present on the occasion included Swami Kumar, Dr Sushil Wattal, KK Khosa, Sanjay Dhar, Vijay Bhat, Yogender Kaul, Former IGP, Ravi Kaul, Ravinder Jalali and M K Bhat.
