JAMMU, Apr 24: A seminar on “Folk Music of Jammu Region with Special Reference to Paakh” was organised by the PG Department of Music, Government College for Women (GCW), Parade Ground, Jammu, today.
A statement said that Asha Kesar, a renowned singer from Jammu, was the resource person during the seminar.
Principal GCW Parade Dr Ravendar Kumar Tickoo was the Chief Guest on the occasion attended by Dean of Academics at GCW Parade, Prof Avinash Gupta, along with other faculty members and the students of the college.
The College Principal congratulated the Music Department for organising the seminar and encouraged students to participate in such seminars and workshops to connect with their roots and culture.
Head of the Music Department, Dr Jasmeet Kaur, thanked Asha Kesar for sharing her valuable knowledge to help students understand their culture.
