Seminar organized on ‘Comparative Study of Urdu & Kashmiri Nazam’

KISHTWAR, Oct 30: Kishtwar Campus, University of Jammu, in collaboration with National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) Ministry of HRD, Govt of India, organized a national seminar on the Subject “ Comparative Study of Urdu and Kashmiri Nazam”, here today.
The seminar was inaugurated by Minister for State for Public Works (R & B) and Revenue Sunil Sharma while Prof R.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, JU, presided over the inaugural function. Deputy Commissioner , Kishtwar, G N Balwan also graced the presidium.
In his address, Sunil Sharma assured his full co-operation to Kishtwar Campus. He said that he will take the matter of construction of remaining building with the HRD Minister very soon. He further said that Kishtwar had a tremendous cultural and literary background and Kishtwar Campus is doing tremendous job for preserving the old age cultural heritage of Kishtwar by organizing cultural and literary programs. Sunil Sharma also announced an ambulance Van for Kishtwar Campus, University of Jammu from his CDF.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof R D Sharma said that these types of activities keep any campus alive. For the overall development of the students every campus should organize academic and literary activities, he added
Prof. Zaman Azrudha, former dean faculty of Arts presented a l key note address. He traced the history of Kashmiri language and described its roots in Kishtwar. He also traced the history of Urdu language and informed that Urdu came in J&K during Dogra Rulers.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Rector Kishtwar Campus Prof Shohab Inayat Malik presented a brief profile of literary and academic activities of Kishtwar Campus.
Later, two academic session were also held during the one day national seminar in which Prof Zaman Azrudha, Prof. Mansoor Ahmed Mir, Prof Assadullah Wani, Prof Qudoos Javed, Prof Sheikh Shakeel, Balraj Bakshi, Dr Reyaz Ahmed, Dr Chaman Lal acted as resource persons and spoke at length on various aspects including themes, diction and presentation of the topic.
