JAMMU, Apr 28: Shiv Sena (UBT) and J&K unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here today joined the ongoing protest in Meera Sahib area for the last 62 days to save the land and to get compensation for the land occupied for the under construction ring road.
Addressing the protesters Shiv Sena J&K chief, Manish Sahni; senior AAP leader, Safir Chaudhary and spokesperson Nirmal Mahana said that injustice is being done to the residents of Bal Sultan village of Meera Sahib as the administration is forcibly evacuating the land occupied by them for decades making them homeless.
They also said that even compensation for the land coming under the ring road is not being provided to the land owners.
Safir Chaudhary termed the order declaring decades’ old occupation of land as illegal as a dictatorial step.
Locals including Mohammad Arif, Kuldeep Kumar, Kishore, Om Prakash, Shiv Sena general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; president Kamgar, Raj Singh, senior AAP leader, Dr. Rajindra Thapa, Aftab Hussain, Sarfaraz Shah and Om Prakash Khajuria were also present on the occasion.
