JAMMU, July 1: J&K unit of Shiv Sena UBT has expressed concern over the fake registration for Shri Amarnath Yatra and urged for strict legal action against the accused.
In a press conference here today, Shiv Sena J&K chief, Manish Sahni said that fraudsters have been attracted by the huge collection in the name of registration fee for the religious pilgrimage.
“While Shiv Sena is continuously demanding to make the pilgrimage registration free, the government is adopting stubborn attitude and Rs. 220 is being collected from pilgrims for on-line registration,” he maintained adding: “As a result of this extra burden has been put on the devotees who come for the pilgrimage and the fraudsters have also become active.”
It is pertinent to mention here that registration of about 400 pilgrims was found to be fake on the first day of Yatra.
President women wing, Meenakshi Chibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli; president Kamgar wing, Raj Singh and Mangu Ram were also present in the press conference.
