UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: Shiv Sena (UBT), J&K has demanded free electricity up to 300 units and waiver in all pending electricity bills for the poor and general public of J&K.
Addressing a programme here today Manish Sahni, Shiv Sena J&K president said people of J&K are suffering in the absence of elected Government.
“Their voices are not being heard and the administration is indulging in arbitrariness,” he claimed adding: “I am not against development and technology but for the last 35 years, people of J&K were facing terrorism and the abrogation of Article 370 has further hit them.”
The Shiv Sena leader said that changing electric meters three times in a short span has caused inconvenience to the public and now there are plans to forcefully introduce prepaid smart meters, which will further burden the common man economically.
On this occasion many local youths joined Shiv Sena.
Sahni announced Muzamil Khan as president of Ward 11 and Mohan Lal as president of Ward 7.
