Sena demands CUET 2024 exam centres locally

JAMMU, Dec 8: A deputation of Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit here today under the leadership of its president, Manish Sahni met Atal Dulloo, J&K Chief Secretary and submitted him a memorandum demanding examination centres for Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-2024 at State and district level and preference for local students in admissions.
Sahni said that local students should have the first right for admissions in colleges and universities of every State and Union Territory including J&K.
He also demanded that CUET examination centres should be made at State and district level for the convenience of the students.
The Shiv Sena leader said that in 2023, around 24,000 students from J&K had CUET exam centres in other States due to which they faced a lot of problems and many could not even reached the examination centres. Sahni claimed that the Chief Secretary assured to consider the demands.
Shiv Sena vice president, Sanjeev Kohli was also present in the deputation.
