JAMMU, May 31: Tilak Raj Shan, zonal president Shiv Sena (Shinde) today submitted a memorandum through online to Regional Labour Commissioner Central Nirmala Kanwat seeking directions to CGM, MEGA Company Ratle Power Project, Drabshalla for release of pending wages of last 2 months to 36 workers.
Shan also took up the issue with Regional Labour Commissioner seeking her immediate intervention in the matter.
Shan said it is submitted that affected families whose land and houses came under project have been engaged in MEGA Engineering, Ratle Project Drabshalla in a contractual mode instead of absorption in the Company. Anyhow for the last one year they are performing the duties enthusiastically and to the entire satisfaction of project authorities.
He said but for the last two months the company is not disbursing the wages to 36 workers with the result they are under stress and strain, as they are unable to feed their families and their financial condition is deteriorating day by day. He said their school going children are suffering on account of this as the hapless workers can’t pay their school dues. They have no other source of income for sustenance in these hard days except the pay due they received from the Company.
Shan further appealed Regional Labour Commissioner Central to issue necessary directions to CGM, MEGA, Ratle Project Drabshalla for release of pending wages at an earliest to mitigate the sufferings of poor workers.
Regional Labour Commissioner assured him to settle the grievances of workers on priority basis.
