UDHAMPUR, Sept 22: Senior Citizen Club Udhampur today held its first monthly meeting, in which retired officials from different departments such as: Administration, Education, Engineering, Sports, Police, Health Services, Sheep Husbandry, MHA, Excise, Commercial Taxes, Agriculture, LIC, Revenue, Defence, Bankers and also from business community, participated as the members.
The objective of the Club is to aware the society about social evils existing in the society and to create a healthy society and to propagate and promote the welfare measures announced by Government of India/State Government .
On the occasion, executive body comprising of R C Nagar as Patron – in – Chief, Dr Adarsh Parkash as Chairman, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal as President, Col Balwant Singh as Vice-President, Raj Guru as General Secretary and Mohan Singh as Treasurer, was constituted.
Accordingly an Advisory Board was also constituted with Dr Professor S K Magotra, Ex-Principal Degree College as Chief Advisor and S K Gandotra, Ex-Joint Director Education; Som Raj Sharma, Ex-Chief Engineer; Rattan Manotra, Ex- SSP; Ashok Khajuria, Ex-Chief Planning Officer; Som Raj Sharma, Ex-AGM JKB; Jugal Gupta, Educationist; Dr Jagdish Lal Verma, Kartar Singh, Ex-Thsildar and Maqbool Shah, Ex-CTI, Indian Railways as members.
Various activities to be undertaken in the month of October were discussed in detail.
