JAMMU, Dec 9: Annual General Body of Association for Welfare of Senior Citizens was held here at Jammu Club, here today.
Besides discussing general business of the Association during the meeting, election of the new team of office bearers for the year 2018-20 was also held.
Two patrons of the Association, OP Modi and VJ Gour and a member YP Gupta had passed away during the year. To pay tributes to the departed souls, a two-minute silence was also observed.
HB Khajuria, senior patron of the Association was re-nominated as chief patron and AK Arora outgoing president and founder member of the Association was also opted as patron. Prem Gupta, (Retd IPS) was also opted as patron, unanimously.
Meanwhile, new office bearers of the Association were elected unanimously. JS Sudan was elected as president, SK Jain and Chander Parkash Sharma as vice presidents, RS Broca as treasurer and PN Jalla and Ms Nirmal Mahajan as joint secretaries. Executive Members of the working committee shall be nominated by the elected office bearers later on.
The meeting ended with a note to work more enthusiastically for the welfare of the senior citizens even for those who are not members of Association.
