BHADERWAH, July 20: Senior Citizens Council held a meeting under the chairmanship of veteran political leader Mast Nath Yogi, in which large number of people participated.
In the meeting, the speakers highlighted various developmental issues pertaining to Bhaderwah and also alleged discrimination with the beautiful valley by some vested interests with regional bias.
The members from different sections of the society unanimously passed a resolution demanding that Government should come clean on the rumours that District Session Court and the Post of Principal District and Sessions Judge are being shifted from Bhaderwah.
They also demanded that Bhaderwah should be upgraded from Additional District to full fledged district on merit.
“Government should come clean and clear it’s position on the Principal District and Sessions Judge issue, otherwise their is every possibility that it can snowball into a major agitation, as we are not going to fell prey any conspiracy and will go to any extent to counter it”, said Mast Nath Yogi, Patron of Senior Citizen Council while interacting with media persons.
The main objective of the council is to maintain age old brotherhood and to work tirelessly for our motherland, said Abdul Hafiz Wani, Coordinator of the council.
“We have been facing discrimination since last several decades and have become victim of regional bias, we hope that present dispensation will immediately consider the long pending demand of giving Bhaderwah status of District on merit”, Wani added.
Prominent among those who were present during the meeting include Vice President JKNPP Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, senior CPIM leader Des Raj Manhas, Ashraf Goni, Tanveer Ahmed Dev, Abdul Haq Zargar and Hafiz Khateeb.
