JAMMU, May 12: The Orthopedic Department of GMC Jammu was prominently represented in the North Zone Orthopedic Conference at Chandigarh today.
Dr Sanjeev Gupta, who was current president of North Zone orthopedic assiciation led the delegates. Dr Abdul Ghani, Dr Bias Dev, Dr Manish Singh and Dr Tahir were the invited faculty in the conference from GMC Jammu and delivered their talks on different Orthopedic issues. Dr Sanjeev Gupta handed over the Baton of Presidentship to president elect Dr Shobha Arora for the next year. Dr Bias Dev, Associate Professor has been nominated as executive member representing J&K in Noth Zone Association of Orthopedic Surgeons for the current year.
Besides other faculty members, the Post Graduate resident doctors Dr Akhil Gupta, Dr Aditya Gupta, Dr Manmeet Singh, Dr Nitish Sharma, Dr Sachin Kudyar and Dr Varun thussoo read their papers based on the orthopedic work being done at GMC Jammu in the conference.
Dr Sanjeev discussed about roll of 3 D printing technology in Orthopedics, Dr Bias discussed about prevention of fractures in elderly population & need for launching mass education programmes in public, Dr Ghani spoke about roll of art of treating fractures without surgery and Dr Manish participated in arthroscopy session and Dr Tahir in Limb reconstruction and deformity corrections.
