JAMMU, Sept 2: Promising singing star of Jammu and Kashmir, Anmol Jaswal, has brought laurels not only to the City of Temples but to the entire State by emerging runners-up in the prestigious Sony TV Entertainment Show ‘Indian Idol Junior 2013’ thereby helping Jammu and Kashmir to carve a place on the Country singing map.
The young talent apart from winning hearts of many singers of great repute, has also touched the melody queen Lata Mangeshkar with his sweet and melodious voice. He also won ‘Best Performer Award’ twice during the three months journey of the show.
The show that enthralled the viewers across the Country and touched a billion hearts, a journey which started with 86 contestants from across India came to an end yesterday night as India got its ‘First Indian Idol Junior’.
The show was adjudged by three genius from the music world, Shreya Ghosal and music composers, Vishal and Shekhar.
Anjana Padmanabhan was crowned the winner by living legend Amitab Bachchan himself while Anmol Jaswal secured second runners-up position in the finale of the show, which was graced by Bollywood stars Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor.
“It was a great experience. We all worked hard continuously for three months to win the laurels. We were like a family and had our moments of joy and sorrow during this three months journey of the show. We learned a lot from each other and our judges, who told us about our shortcomings, which we rectified as the show advanced”, said the sensational singing star, Anmol Jaswal while sharing his experience throughout the show.
However, he expressed that SMS ban on prepaid connections in the State served as a stumbling block otherwise he would have secured the title.
When asked about his future plans, Anmol said that three months long rigrous competition in the show has made him tired and he wants to take some rest.
“Presently I have no future plans, but my aspirations are very high. I want to become a perfect playback singer and compose my own music. I will not stop here, this is the only beginning, I have to travel a lot and fulfill my aim” said the sensational star.
Belonging to a middle class family which resides in Greater Kailash, Anmol started singing since he was two and a half years old. He learned classical music from his father, Surpal Jaswal, who is a music teacher. His mother is a housewife as well as a singer and gives training to children from home.
A student of 9th standard in Model Academy, Jammu, Anmol, has many achievements in his name. He won 3rd prize in Sangam Kala Group competition and 1st in Bollywood Music Academy, Rangbhoomi and Devotional Song Competition. Besides, he always stood 1st in various Inter School Competitions, he participated. Apart from it, he has received a Jammu Star award and done numerous local shows.
