MUMBAI, Feb 25: Extending the rally for the third day today the benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) rallied by 66 points to 20,877.72 following gains in Bankex, Capital Goods, Realty, Auto, IT and FMCG stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) moved up by 19 points to 6,205.70.
The sensex recorded intra day high and low at 20,912.54 and 20,847.72 points respectively.
The Nifty registered intra day high and low at 6,216.45 and 6,197.95 points respectively.
Contiuned buying in Bankex, Capital Goods, Auto, Technology and IT stocks kept the market strong in the opening trade.
However, selling in Power, Metal and Oil and Gas capped from further gain, broker said.
The gainers were BHEL by 2.14 pc to Rs 159.80, Bharti Airtel by 1.50 pc to Rs 287.15, Wipro by 1.43 pc to Rs 586.35 and Cipla by 1.13 pc to Rs 371.65.
The losers were NTPC by 1.92 pc to Rs 114.80, Gail India by 1.65 pc to Rs 356.85, Coal India by 1.21 pc to Rs 249 and SSLT by 1.06 pc to Rs 191.90. (AGENCIES)
