Mumbai, Aug 22: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) posted a massive gain of 557.38 points or 1.47 pc to settle at 38,434.72. in week under review on positive global cues.
The sentiments were also boosted by hopes that the government will spend more to support economy The Nifty gained 193.20 points or 1.73 pc to settle at 11,371.60.
The BSE Mid-Cap advanced 520.37 or 3.61 pc to settle at 14,953.95. BSE Small-Cap jumped 770.01 points or 5.56 pc to settle at 14,625.19.
On Monday the Sensex gained 173.44 points to settle at 38,050.78. Nifty added 68.70 points to settle at 11,247.10.
On Tuesday the Sensex spurted 477.54 points to settle at 38,528.32. Nifty jumped 138.25 points to settle at 11,385.35.
On Wednesday, the key equity barometers advanced for third Sensex rose 86.47 points to settle at 38,614.79. Nifty added added 23.05 points to settle at 11,408.40. (UNI)
