JAMMU, June 23: President Thathri Development Front, Kuldeep Kumar Rao has urged upon the Chairman Delimitation Commission, Ranjana Dessai and Member Parliament Udhampur-Doda Constituency, Dr. JJitendra Singh (also MoS PMO) for creation of separate Assembly Constituency ‘Thathri’ in District Doda.
Rao said that Sub-Division Thathri is divided in Bhadarwah, Inderwal and Doda Constituencies because of which the whole Sub-Division is lacking basic facilities.
“Thathri is the most backward and undeveloped Sub-Division of J&K. This area has been neglected in the past by the successive state governments as till date there is no MLC or MLA from Thathri,” he maintained adding that the Sub-Division has its own 5 Tehsils while all the existing Districts and Assembly Constituencies in the erstwhile J&K State have hardly 2 or 3 Tehsils.
“So Sub-Division Thathri not only deserves Separate Assembly Constituency but also deserves District status,” Rao claimed.
