Sir,
The decision of the Government to create separate division for Ladakh in addition to the Jammu and Kashmir divisions is more than welcome. It may be said that such genuine demands of the people shouldn’t be kept pending for a long time especially of the region like Ladakh who has most difficult and inaccessible terrain and geographically isolated from the rest of the country for almost more than six months which generally remains cut off by road from rest of the country, the only mode of transport for the inhabitants is Air travel which every one can’t afford and that too isn’t available most of the time due to bad weather conditions.
In view of the difficult conditions, remoteness and inaccessibility of the areas and keeping in mind the difficulties of the common man this division should have been created long time ago by the State administration but it has never been given free hand in such matters by the central and state level politicians. They always play cards for their vested interests. This step too is or can be in that direction in view of the ensuing elections but voters have become wiser.
However, whatever the reasons maybe this act of the administration is highly appreciable as it’s in the common interest of the people of the area which will lead to the development, peace and prosperity of the region.
