JAMMU, Dec 31: Team Jammu today released the ‘Calendar of Holidays-2019’ and declared September 23, the birth anniversary of last Dogra ruler, Maharaja Hari Singh as State Holiday.
Releasing the Calendar, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman of Team Jammu, regretted that State Government released the calendar of gazetted holidays for the year 2019 having no mention of holiday on September 23.
“It is highly unfortunate that the State Government has failed to recognise the contribution of visionary and revolutionary Maharaja Hari Singh in uniting the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Maharaja Hari Singh will remain a role model for the generations to come. He was a visionary far ahead of his times and the contribution rendered by him would be remembered for ever,” Zorawar said.
He made a fervent appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to observe holiday on the birth anniversary of late Maharaja.
Reiterating the resolve to carry forward messages and teaching of Maharaja Hari Singh, Zorawar Singh regretted that the last Dogra ruler was a victim of malicious and vicious campaign launched by Kashmir valley based ruling elites to undermine revolutionary steps taken by the late Maharaja.
Jamwal also announced to vigorously continue the Team Jammu’s fight against drug abuse and drug mafia in the New Year too.
Among others who were present on the occasion include Rajeshwar Sharma, Rakesh Mishra, Chandan Datta, Angrez Singh Babbi, Mangal Singh, Sunil Singh Babloo, Dr. Ashish Gupta, Sanjay Sharma, Surinder Sharma, Sunil Gupta, Ishaan Choudhary, Yogesh Kumar, Bhanu Partap Singh, Sunil Raipuria, Kadam Kapoor and Ashok Kumar.
