JAMMU, Dec 4: A septuagenarian was murdered by his relative in Jadh area of Akhnoor over some pathway dispute today.
As per police sources, 75-year-old Uday Chand, son of Parmanand, a resident of Jadh was attacked by his relatives identified as Subash, Banarsi, Rattan and Pawan, son of Mohan Lal of Jadh and Subash’s wife Rita Devi over pathway dispute.
In the incident, Uday received injuries and died on the spot.
On getting information, a team from Akhnoor Police Station rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor for autopsy.
After post-mortem conducted by the Board of Doctors, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
Banarsi and Rattan have been detained by the police.
However, a case under FIR Number 232/2020 under Sections 302, 341 and 323 IPC has been registered at Akhnoor Police Station and investigation started.
