JAMMU, Aug 13: NSS and NCC units in collaboration with the Sports Department of SPMR College of Commerce under the aegis of IQAC organized series of events in the college premises.
The programme started with a Tiranga Rally displaying patriotism and unity. The rally was flagged off by Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Rajinder Singh. Students, faculty, and staff participated with great enthusiasm, carrying the National Flag and spreading a message of national pride and solidarity.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh said that the Tiranga represents the essence of our country – a tapestry of diverse cultures, languages, and traditions, all bound together by a common spirit of freedom and patriotism. He reminded the students that as they hold the flag high, they should remember that they are upholding these values and carrying forward the legacy of those who fought for independence.
The college faculty and students attended a live streaming session of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan conducted by Social Welfare Department. The Sports Department of the college also organized a spirited Tug of War competition. The event saw enthusiastic participation from various student groups, fostering camaraderie and team spirit.
A comprehensive cleanliness drive was also organized in which students and faculty members came together to clean the campus and its surroundings. The entire programme was coordinated and conducted by Dr Deepshikha Sharma, Dr Deepak Pathania, NSS Programme Officers, Dr Madhu Bala, ANO NCC and Ravi Kumar, Director, Physical Education.
Those who attended the function included Prof Pawan Gupta, Dr Reena Rani, Prof Ashwani Kumar, Dr Chetna Gupta, Prof Ashraf Nawaz, Prof Monika Mahajan, Prof Shaji Khan, Dr Sunal, Dr Roomi Rani, Prof Esha Abrol and Dr.Mamta Rani.
