Sesame oil declines in thin trade

NEW DELHI, Aug 16:  Sesame oil prices edged lower by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on lack of buying support.
However, other edible and non-edible oils moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said lack of buying support against adequate stocks position mainly led to the fall in sesame oil prices.
In the national capital, sesame oil traded lower by Rs 50 to Rs 8,700 per quintal.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs per quintal):
Oilseeds: Mustard seed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.
Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,140-1,250.
Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,700, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,300-1,375, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,100, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,225-1,275, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,275-1,375, sesame mill delivery 8,700, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 6,850, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 6,550, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 5,250, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,350, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,250, Palmolein (Kandla) 6,050 and Coconut (per tin) 2,650-2,700.
Non-edible oils: Linseed 7,850, Castor 9,700-9,800, Neem 5,350-5,450. (PTI)
