*Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NC Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah along with his party MLAs-Devender Singh Rana and Mian Altaf went to the Assembly’s canteen and had tea and snacks there.
*Minutes later, three Ministers including Altaf Bukhari, Haseeb Drabu and Sajjad Lone also reached the canteen.
*Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently visited the Parliament canteen and had lunch `thaali’ there for Rs 28.
*Both the times, national anthem was played on the arrival and departure of Governor NN Vohra for his Address at the Central Hall of Legislature, the mikes caught the sound of radio commentary of South Africa vs Sri Lanka World Cup quarter final match.
* Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed reached the Central Hall of Legislature at 11.29 am while the Governor reached the Hall at the stroke of 11.30 am. The Governor was accompanied by Legislative Council Chairman Amrit Malhotra and newly elected Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta.
* Omar Abdullah was seated on front seat of right side reserved for opposition benches in the Central Hall along with Mohammad Shafi Uri.
*BJP MLC Charanjit Singh Khalsa was wearing dark orange `pagri’ while Independent MLA from Zanskar in Kargil district Bakir Hussain Rizvi was wearing black pagri with white flower in the middle. BJP MLA from Ramban Neelam Langeh was wearing dark red basket.
*The Governor’s Address lasted just 30 minutes from 11.35 am to 12.05 pm.
*In the Assembly, BJP fire brand MLA from Nowshera Ravinder Raina had been allotted seat behind Independent MLA Engineer Rashid. After the Governor’s Address, Raina was seen speaking to media channels countering the allegations of Rashid on West Pakistan refugees saying those speaking the language of Pakistan can go there.
*If Opposition has Engineer, we have Chief Engineer in the form of Ravinder Raina, a PDP MLC remarked.
*Legislative Council Chairman Amrit Malhotra today accompanied the Governor for his Address for the last time as he is completing his term on March 27.
