Pir Panchal releases calendar on saints

JAMMU, Nov 13: BJP vice president and MLA East, Yudhvir Sethi today lambasted the National Conference (NC) for passing the resolution on restoration of controversial Article 370 and 35 -A and warned that designs of the party will be frustrated.
Sethi was addressing a function of Kashmiri Pandits organised by Pir Panchal a socio-cultural and educational organisation led by Ramesh Hangloo at Press Club here, today in connection with release of a commemorative calendar honouring Kashmiri saints in memory of Krishna Jotshi.
Yudhvir Sethi termed the passage of the resolution on 370 and 35 A by NC a conspiracy to divide the people of the UT. He alleged that there was no mention of resolution in the business of Assembly on that day and it was passed in a huff by the House. Sethi said the NC leadership since 1947 sowed seeds of hatred among the people and BJP will not allow this to happen now.
The MLA also lauded the contribution of Kashmiri Pandits saying that the community deserves credit for preserving its rich cultural legacy. They left the imprints of their rich culture everywhere in the country where they settled after their mass exodus. He also termed the day in1989 -as blackest day in the history of Kashmir when the entire community was forced to leave Kashmir by anti national elements.
Dr. Arvin Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner was the guest of honour. He also highlighted the contribution of the great saints of Kashmir in preserving the age old and rich culture of Valley which dates back over 5000 years. He appealed the organisers to prepare a compendium on all saints and religious scholars of Kashmir.
In his address Ramesh Hangloo said the calendar serves as a tribute to the spiritual legacy of Kashmiri saints.
Yudhvir Sethi was honoured on the occasion.
Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi also spoke on the occasion and stressed on propagation of message of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta across the globe for the welfare of humanity.
Pt Avtar Krishan Jotshi in his address highlighted the contribution of the Jotshi dynasty of Bijbehara in preserving the cultural legacy and said Vijeshwar Panchang which is being published by the dynasty for hundreds of years has become a dharmic granth for the community.
On the occasion Dr Sandeep from United Kingdom who also graced the function was also honoured. Shanti Lal Sidh proposed vote of thanks.
