Settle Pandits at a separate place in Valley: ASKPC

JAMMU, Nov 7: The demand for carving out of a separate homeland for Kashmiri Pandits within Valley surfaced in the meeting of Youth Wing All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) held here today and all the members were unanimous that the return was not possible to clusters or original inhabitations under prevailing circumstances in the Valley and Government should discuss the settling of Pandits at a separate place in Kashmir.
The meeting was chaired by president of the Youth Wing, Ravi Raina. Among others it was addressed by ASKPC president, H L Chatta, its senior vice president R K Raina and spokesperson S K Bhat.
A resolution was passed in the meeting in this regard. The resolution also demanded enhancement of monthly relief up to Rs 10,000 grant of Rs 25 lakh as compensation to over aged youth to set up their business establishments, protection of land belonging to Kashmiri Hindus and their religious places form encroachers, de-linking of employment package from return and three percent reservation in Central Government Departments for KPs.
Justifying the demand of settling Pandits at a separate place in the Valley, Mr Chatta and R K Raina said that much water has flown in Jehlum since 1990 and Pandits are not guinea  pigs who can be put to test for restoration of Pluralism in Kashmir.
M L Kashkari demanded probe through a Supreme Court Judge to find out who was responsible for mass exodus of Pandits.
The meeting also made an appeal to Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah urging him not to force the migrant employees to join their duties in Valley as assured by him in the Apex Committee meeting on September 17.
A direction in this regard be given to all departments and undertakings in this regard, it added.
