JAMMU: Seven Private Members’ Bills, including one seeking amendment in the J&K Civil Services Decentralisation and Recruitment Act of 2010, was today introduced in the State Assembly.
While three out of them were rejected by the House, one of them was withdrawn by the member.
Independent member Abdul Rashid introduced the Private Members’ Bill number 53 of 2012, seeking amendment in the Civil Services Decentralisation and Recruitment Act, 2010.
The bill was allowed to be introduced in the House.
BJP member Chaman Lal Gupta also moved three such bills in the House, of which one was allowed to be introduced while the other two were rejected.
Private Members’ Bill Number 34 of 2011, which sought political reservation to Gaddis and Sippis, Gujjars and Bakerwals, was opposed by the Law Minister, following which the House rejected it with voice vote.
Private Members’ Bill number 74 of 2011, also introduced by Gupta seeking amendment in the State Constituencies, was also rejected with voice vote.
His Private Members’ Bill number 73 of 2011, which pertained to amendment in the State Accountability Commission Act, 2002 was allowed to be moved in the House.
The Private Members’ Bill No 38 of 2011, moved by JKNPP member Balwant Singh Mankotia regarding amendment in the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Act of 1988, was opposed by the Government and the House rejected it with voice vote.
The House also allowed introduction of the Private Members’ Bill moved by BJP member Jagdish Raj Sapolia.
The Bill number 43 of 2011 sought to amend Code of Criminal Procedure Samvat, 1989.
Private Members Bill No 46 of 2011, moved by independent member Charanjeet Singh, was also opposed by the Government, which argued that it will bring its own bill and consider the member’s amendment in it.
Later, the Member withdrew the Bill. (AGENCIES)
