DODA, Jan 10: The construction work of Government Primary School building Jhuri falling in Panchayat Chilly Pien of Chilly Block, Education Zone Batyas here is still incomplete though it was started seven years back.
In the year 2017 the contactor started the construction work of single storey school building but still it is incomplete.
Locals of area said that Jhuri is one of the far-flung areas in Chilly Block and has been left at the mercy of God by the successive Governments.
They alleged that Education Department is putting the future of students at stake.
The old building has only three classrooms which are being used by the students and there is one office for staff and there is no playground for the students and no kitchen shed.
As the building stands incomplete, locals of the area have said that they have repeatedly raised the issue with the concerned officials but their pleas went unheard.
“We have been demanding the completion of the construction work but the authorities at the helm are not paying any heed to our demands,” they said.
Local demanded immediate completion of the school building so that the students can get their education with an ease.
The villagers including parents of the students have appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor to direct the concerned authorities for completion the construction work of the school building before the classes resume.
