JAMMU, May 15: To support the Government in COVID-19 management, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and party sympathizers handed over cheques worth 3.5 lakh rupees to party’s J&K president Ravinder Raina and general Secretary (organization) Ashok Kaul for donation to PM CARES Fund at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
From R S Pura, Dalip (BDC Chairman Miran Sahib Block), Vijay Sharma (Mandal president Miran Sahib) and Shiv Kumar Bali (Mandal president R S Pura) handed over cheques worth Rs 2.5 lakh to J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina.
From Ward number 18, District Jammu West Councillor Dinesh Gupta along with co-convener, Employees & Teacher Cell, Subhash Chander Gupta handed over cheques worth Rs 50,000 to Ravinder Raina while from Chowki Choura (Akhnoor), Yashpaul Sharma handed over Rs 51,000 by cheque to J&K BJP president.
Meanwhile, Corporator of Ward number 9, Suneet Raina handed over cheques worth Rs 3.25 lakh to BJP general secretary (organization), Ashok Kaul. The cheques donated in favour of PM CARES Fund were given to Suneet Raina by residents of his Ward.
Defence Accounts Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu contributed Rs 2.06 lakh to PM CARES Fund. Sixty-five pensioners contributed out of their pensions. The contributions were managed by chairman of the Association, Ashwani Trisal along with Darshan Grover (vice chairman),Yash Pal Sharma (joint secretary), Raj Singh (finance secretary) and Krishan Gopal Gupta (executive member).
In Rajouri, many prominent citizens contributed towards PM CARES Fund through J&K BJP general secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta. Usha Gupta (Proprietor, R K Readymade) donated Rs 51000, Rs 31000 was donated by Puneet Sharma of Mobile Solutions, Rs 21000 by Subash Sharma (retired ADC), Rs 8500 by Jasbir Singh (Mandal president), Rs 5100 each by Babu Ram (president, Muradpur Mandal), Vicky Sharma (J&K Executive BJYM), Amrish Gupta of Neelam Gifts, Nischal Rotra and Ranjeet Tara (district general secretary BJP) and Rs 2000 each was contributed by Anamika and Rajit Jamwal.
