JAMMU, Aug 4: Congress Manifesto Committee for Jammu led by party senior vice president and chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma today visited Rajouri and interacted with different delegations from cross section of society.
Accompanied by members Shashi Sharma, Adv Suresh Dogra, general secretaries PCC, Iqbal Dar, Mohib Khan, the committee was received by former Minister and District president Shabir Ahmed Khan, vice president PCC Sain Abdul Rasheed, general secretaries PCC member Manifesto Committee Iftikhar Ahmed, Shakeel Mir, senior leaders Lalit Mahajan, Rajesh Bittu, Ved Guru, Prof Vikar Chaudhary, Vijay Guru, Iqbal Shawl, Nasirullah Mirza, Farooq Khan, Anil Chopra Amit Sayal, Surinder Bharti, Nirmal Singh, Om Parkash, Mushtaq Ahmed, Javed Chaudhary, Adv Dalfi and several others.
Delegations of Beopar Mandal, PRIs, Lawyers, unemployed youth, daily wagers, farmers, coal mine employees, pensioners, fruit mandi and educationists met and deliberated upon various issues.
Briefing media persons, Ravinder Sharma expressed concern over the delay in restoration of Statehood after five years of downgrading historical state on Aug 5, 2019.Instead our left out rights in UT have been snatched and vested in Lt Governor.
He said that although it will be a powerless elected Government and Assembly but Congress party iis fully prepared for Assembly elections. Government should control militancy and ensure conducive security environment for smooth elections.
A large number of people from different walks met the committee and appreciated the party for doing such exercise for first time. They raised several issues of common concern.
Earlier, the committee interacted with prominent citizens, retired officers, refugees pensioners farmers and others at Dak Bunglow Sunderbani. They put forth various issues of different sections of public. Retd DFO NC Sharma, Retd HM Chuni Lal, Retd Lecturer Raj Kumar Raina, Mohinder Singh, Kasturi Lal, Dr Naresh Sudan, Om Parkash and others.
Meanwhile, Chairman designated a sub committee comprising general secretary Iftikhar Ahmed and secretary PCC Mobin Khan has to visit Poonch tomorrow and interact with people and submit report to the party.
