Several leaders, organizations pay tribute to Dr Manmohan Singh

JAMMU, Dec 28: Several political leaders and social organizations condoled the demise of former Prime Minister of India, Late Dr Manmohan Singh and recalled his contributions to the nation.
Y V Sharma, spokesperson of J&K BJP, expressed profound sorrow over the passing away of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Reflecting on his legacy, Sharma highlighted Dr Singh’s remarkable contributions to the nation and his steadfast commitment to public service.
“Dr Singh’s efforts to advance the peace process and foster development in Jammu and Kashmir were particularly commendable. He worked to usher in an era of progress for J&K,” Sharma said concluded by emphasizing Dr Manmohan Singh’s enduring legacy and his indelible mark on the nation’s democratic and developmental journey.
National Conference (JKNC) paid rich tribute to the former PM during a programme held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu. The programme was attended by senior leaders, including Surinder Choudhary (Deputy Chief Minister), Ajay Sadhotra (additional general secretary), Rattan Lal Gupta (provincial president, Jammu), Sheikh Bashir Ahmed (provincial secretary), Babu Rampaul (central zone president) and many other party workers.
Speaking on the occasion, NC leaders including Deputy CM described Dr Manmohan Singh as a leader of great vision and wisdom. They said Dr Singh played a key role in transforming India’s economy and ensuring progress for all sections of society. “Dr Singh’s calm leadership and focus on development are lessons for everyone. He was a true statesman,” they added.
A meeting of the Sikh Progressive Front (SPF) was held under the presidentship of Balvinder Singh, during which heartfelt tribute were paid Dr Manmohan Singh, on his demise. Prominent SPF members present at the meeting included Manjit Singh (general secretary), Rajinder Singh Sudan (joint secretary), Surinder Singh Wazir (vice president), Tejinder Singh (member, DGPC Jammu), T P Singh, Iqbal Singh, Janak Singh, Harmohinder Singh (president, Displaced Kashmiri Sikhs Conference), Satinder Pal Singh and Paramjit Singh. They expressed deep sorrow over the loss of such a towering figure, emphasizing that Dr Singh’s legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
A condolence meeting by Sikh United Front and various Sikh organizations was held under the chairmanship of Sudershan Singh Wazir (Chairman, Sikh United Front J&K) in which he expressed grief over the sad demise of Dr Manmohan Singh. Wazir said that Dr Singh’s demise has deeply saddened the nation and especially the Sikh community as he was the first Sikh to become Prime Minister of India. Those participated in the meeting include Darbinder Singh (president Shiromani Akali Dal J&K), Mohinder Singh (chief organizer, Bhai Kanhiya Nishkam Sewa Society), Manmohan Singh (Chairman, Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Gole Gujral, Jammu), Jagmohan Singh (president, Gurdwara Sec-14 Nanak Nagar, Jammu) and others.
J&K Social Forestry Employees Union met today on at Directorate Office Jammu to mourn the demise of late Dr Manmohan Singh. The incredible contributions of the departed soul were recalled in the capacities of a prolific economist, polite politician and human soul.
In a condolence meeting held at the Devsthan, Bawa Bhair Devsthan Trust expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former PM. While paying rich tribute to Dr Singh, president of the Trust Balwant Singh, general secretary Ramesh Sharma, B S Jamwal and Subash Shastri remarked that Dr Singh’s demise is a significant loss for the nation. They emphasized that Dr Singh will always be remembered as a kind person, a learned economist, and a leader dedicated to reforms.
