JAMMU, Jan 1: ARTO Reasi and his team today conducted extensive checking drive on different roads including Katra-Panthiyal-Kakryal and Reasi-Talwara-Arnas-Jyotipuram.
During the drive, which was supervised by ARTO Reasi Rajesh Gupta, 19 vehicles were challaned and a fine of Rs 2 lakh was imposed on them.
Twenty vehicles were compounded on spot and Rs 26,000 fine was realized from them.
One motor cycle was seized plying without documents and was handed over to Arnas police station for further legal action.
The violations include overcharging, driving without seat-belt, helmet, lack of pollution certificates and other rules of Motor Vehicles Department.
