Several welfare schemes launched in Udhampur Parliamentary constituency: Sharma

JAMMU, Feb 23: The Union Minster of State in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh who is representing  Kathua, Udhampur and Doda Lok Sabha Constituency has taken up various developmental and public welfare projects in hand in his Constituency.
This was stated by the Samparak Adhikari of Dr Singh, Sanjeev Sharma while talking to reporters here today along with Seh Samparak Adhikaris, Bharat Sharma and Divender Wazir.
Sanjeev Sharma said Dr Singh visits his Lok Sabha Constituency every week to have an interaction with the people and also announced some public welfare measures and developmental projects. For these projects besides MPLAD funds the resources are also mobilized from other sources by the MP, he added.
Sharma said in case Dr Singh can’t visit any area in any week he convenes the meeting of prominent people from different areas of his constituency at his 13 A Constituency Office at Gandhi Nagar to discuss public issues with them.
Sharma said some innovative and new projects have been taken up in hand in every area of the Constituency by the MP during last 22 months. One of the projects announced by Dr Singh along the IB from Zero line to 500 meter area  is construction of 1120 toilets. This is a new concept given by Dr Singh, he added.
He said out of them work is on on100 toilets while the construction of rest will be started soon.
Mr Sharma said that three villages were earlier adopted by Dr Jitendra Singh under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna in his Constituency and out of them in Sangwali village in Samba district construction of toilets for villagers has been completed. While Saddal in Reasi district is being developed as a smart village on the ravages of floods. This village has also been adopted by the MP in collaboration with some NGOs, he added.
He said the reconstruction of Seri Tanda village in Reasi district which also faced lot of destruction during 2014 floods was taken up in hand by Dr Singh with the help of some other agencies.
Sharma announced that proposal for adopting five more villages in his constituency has been submitted to government and their construction as model villages will also be taken up in hand soon.
Mr Sharma said the MP has not only taken up innovative and development projects in hand in his Constituency but is providing support to differently able people also. In this regard Dr Jitendra Singh provided artificial limbs at an estimated cost of Rs 7.50 lakh to Dileep Singh of Reasi whose leg was amputated as he was suffering from a serious ailment while Kuldeep Kumar of Kathua who has lost his one leg in a road accident will be provided with a tricycle and battery.
Mr Sharma said that the team working with Dr Jitendra Singh has been asked by MP to keep a complete liaison with the people of the Constituency. It
has been given instructions by the MP as well as BJP organizational general secretary Ashok Kaul to visit different areas of the Constituency every week to ascertain the problems of people there and have an interaction with them.
